THE ARTIST

Born in Caracas, Venezuela in 1982 to Portuguese parents, Andreina De Canha, a visual artist and graduate in graphic design, demonstrated her interest and talent for the arts from an early age.

In the year 2000, she studied Fashion Design at Instituto Brivil. However, not finding personal fulfillment, she decided to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Universidad Nueva Esparta, obtaining a degree in Business Administration of Design in 2009. During this time, Andreina De Canha also received education in visual arts from two great masters in Venezuela: Juan Carlos Gayoso and the master of hyperrealism, Patrizia Rizzo. With them, she delved and took on various drawing and painting techniques such as charcoal, watercolor, ink, oil, and sculpture.

She worked in the marketing and design field at a publishing house for 5 years. In 2011, she served as a lecturer at Universidad Monseñor Talavera, lecturing on field thesis and other art and design subjects. She then dedicated herself to freelance work in the field of design and the arts, creating works that would be exhibited and sold in various art galleries in Caracas, Venezuela, including Galería Dimaca and Centro de Arte Ca'dOro. Additionally, she organized some non-profit art exhibitions at Ateneo de El Hatillo and Museo Tessari Rizzo in Caracas, Venezuela. The works she produced in Venezuela were closely linked to hyperrealism, realism, and kinetic abstraction.

In her home country, she is distinguished for her artistic work as a landscape painter, creating artworks of Venezuela's most emblematic landscapes such as Gran Sabana, Los Roques, and El Ávila. Seeking new challenges in early 2017, she decided to leave Venezuela and travel to Miami. There, she contributed an artwork to the exhibition "Una obra por Venezuela" (An Artwork for Venezuela) alongside the Venezuela Engagement Foundation Group.

Furthermore, in the United States, she dedicated herself to creating abstract works for American collectors. In that same year, the artist relocated to the island of Madeira, devoting herself to design and exploring different artistic paths. All at once, she then embarked on an innovative project called Madeira In Art.

This project is based on the artist's pure passion for nature and the arts. Combining this passion with her marketing background, she has created a strong blueprint for launching  "Artistic Tourism" , a fresh concept being explored for the first time in the island of Madeira. As a visual artist in Madeira, she stands out for her art exhibition "Inviolable Rights" in the entrance hall of the Funchal City Hall, endorsed by the esteemed President of the Funchal City Hall, Pedro Calado. Additionally, she participated in the collaborated exhibition "Madeiran Artists" at the La Salita Madeira art gallery and performed various live performances such as "Madeira Belongs to All, All Belongs to Madeira" for Madeira Friends and other public and government supported events.

In 2022, she opened her entertainment and art tourism company called PORTUGAL CULTURAL INVESTMENTS. In addition to managing her company, she is currently engaged in artistic projects and is always striving for innovation and the creation of new trends worldwide.
